Android will warn you, and the warning is correct. MiO is not from an app store, so your phone will ask whether to allow installing from this source. That is expected — nothing has gone wrong. You will need to allow it for your browser or file manager once.

Installing

Tap Download for Android above and open the APK.
When Android asks, allow installing from your browser. It may be worded as "Install unknown apps".
Tap Install, then open MiO.

Installing a newer MiO over an older one keeps your library. You never need to uninstall first.

What you need

Android 7.0 (Nougat) or newer.
Works on every Android phone, including older 32-bit ones.
About 69 MB to download, and room for the music you add.

What MiO is

Yours, on your device. The library, the playlists and the audio files are all on your phone. There is no account and no server holding your music.
Free, and it sells nothing. No paid tier, no unlocks, no adverts.
Playlist import from Spotify, NetEase, QQ Music, Kugou, YouTube and Bilibili — you review the matches before anything downloads.
A real player: lock-screen and Bluetooth controls, crossfade, a ten-band equaliser, mono, balance, volume levelling and a sleep timer. In English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Russian.
Move it to your next phone. Save your library to a file, load it on the other phone, and it fetches its own copies. It is the backup too, so a lost phone is not a lost library.

Updates

Most fixes arrive on their own — MiO checks when it starts, downloads in the background and applies the fix next time you open it. Nothing to tap. Occasionally a change needs a new APK from this page, and the app will tell you when that happens.

Something broken?

Open Settings → Diagnostics in the app, tap Copy report, and send it through the report form. The report is what the app recorded about itself — it contains no song titles and no personal details.

If you want to chip in

MiO is free and always will be, and there is nothing to buy — no paid tier, no unlocks, no supporter-only features. It is one person's side project, and the only running costs are a small server and a domain.

If it is useful to you and you feel like putting something toward that, there is Ko-fi (card or PayPal) and 爱发电 / Afdian (Alipay or WeChat Pay). Any amount is genuinely appreciated, and none of it is expected — every part of MiO works exactly the same either way.
